CNC PROGRAMMER / MACHINIST

Purcell’s Engineering is a Gladstone based, locally owned and operated business providing mechanical, machining and onsite services to the region since 1996. Purcell’s prides itself on the provision of quality products and services, without compromising on quality or professionalism. 

Here at our Gladstone Machine shop, we are looking for a CNC Machinist to join our team. Purcell’s Engineering support the mining, raw material processing and construction industries throughout Queensland.

The ideal candidate would be self-motivated, time efficient, co-operative and a team player.

Duties will include:

  • Programming, operating and setting CNC Multi Axis lathes, mills, machine centers and horizontal borers.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Good level of communication.
  • High level of time efficiency, quality, pride and safety.
  • May require to work nightshift.

Qualifications required:

  • Trade Qualification (Fitter and turning or Machinist)
  • +5years experience working in precision machining environment.
  • Desired but not required Forklift ticket.
  • Desired but not required Basic welding and cutting
  • Drivers license

The successful candidate will be required to work 38 hours a week with overtime and nightshift if required. Only applicants shortlisted for interviews will be contacted.

BOILERMAKERS / WELDERS – CASUAL AND FULL TIME

Purcell’s Engineering is a Gladstone based, locally owned and operated business providing mechanical, machining and onsite services to the region since 1996. Purcell’s prides itself on the provision of quality products and services, without compromising on quality or professionalism. 

Purcell’s are looking for casual and full time Boilermakers and Welders to join our team. Purcell’s Engineering support the mining, raw material processing and construction industries throughout Queensland.

The ideal candidate would be self-motivated, time efficient, co-operative and a team player.

Qualifications required:-

  • Minimum of Cert III in Engineering – Welding
  • Minimum 3 years post trade experience
  • Current Gladstone Industry Yellow Medical Pass
  • Construction White/Blue Card
  • Competent in light and medium fabrication, also with structural steel
  • Competent with GMAW, FCAW, GTAW and MMAW
  • Ability to pass witnessed weld tests
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
  • MR Truck Licence
  • ForkLift High-Risk Licence
  • Own tools
  • Be available Monday – Friday (may include some weekends and night shift on occasion)

Desirable:-

  • HR Truck Licence
  • Mechanical/Fitting Experience
  • Submerged Arc Welding Experience
  • Current Generic Induction Standard 11 & Coal Board Medical

Skills:-

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Great teamwork skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and be able to problem solve
  • Reliable, trustworthy and honest.
